GREG BERNARDI

PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

Greg has always had an interest in cities, how they are designed and how they evolve over time. And so, it was only natural to decide that a career in real estate world would be a perfect balance between his interest in urban design and city building. In 2003, Greg graduated from the University of Waterloo with a degree in Urban and Regional Planning, taking the first step toward his career in real estate.

After obtaining his real estate license in 2007, Greg started his real estate career in Centre Wellington and it wasn’t long before he established a partnership with a young and ambitious real estate professional by the name of Claire Knight. Greg and Claire achieved great success over the first 5 years of their partnership as a dynamic two person real estate team. Together they were able to capture a large portion of the local real estate market, selling residential, commercial and farm properties.

In 2012, Greg was afforded an opportunity to join the Legal and Realty Department as the lead real estate negotiator for the City of Guelph. Understanding the rarity of this type of opportunity for career growth, Greg made the difficult decision to leave his established partnership with Claire and embrace the opportunity to gain valuable public real estate experience within a municipal setting.

Greg honed his skills at the City of Guelph in what he calls, a 9 year foray into institutional real estate, where he was responsible for the acquisition and disposition of all of the City's real estate assets. Greg developed a foundation in expropriation, easement acquisition, encroachment due diligence and various other municipal real estate transactions which was pivotal in rounding out his real estate experience. However in April of 2021, Greg realized it was time to go back to doing what he loved - working with his clients and after almost 10 years at the City of Guelph, Greg knew that the next chapter of his journey was going to take him back home to his family, friends, community and established friendship with Claire.

Greg has over 15 years of real estate experience in both the private and public sectors having worked all over Ontario representing clients in various different types of real estate transactions. His passion is real estate and nothing is more important than providing the highest level of competent and knowledgeable service that all of Greg’s clients have come to expect. Greg lives in Fergus along with his wonderful wife Amanda and two children and is proud to live and support the community of Centre Wellington.
